Hey Einar,

This integration plugin is great and saved me a lot of headache since I'm not a developer.. Almost everythings checks out OK. Except for..

1. Comments on Pic
I fill in the forms n hit 'add comment' but nothing happens. It doesn't show in zenphoto admin/comments either. I did manage to add ONE comment though and it also sent me a notifying e-mail but that's about it.

I would be soooo very nice of you to help cos Im stuck and really want my site up'n running again.

Have you heard of it before, any clues?

I'm using Apache. Maybe it does have something to do with IIS, because your gallery does seem to be sending the right headers. WP sure is finicky. Steffen Rusitschka's gallery (http://www.ruzee.com/photos/) is returning 404 headers for me as well. What originally tipped me off to the problem was the W3C validator said it couldn't find my gallery, and then the whole not being indexed thing. I'm going to try poking around for a solution, maybe try fiddling with some 404 settings.

@Jods: I don't know why you are getting 404 on your album pages. I'm not getting them on http://tech.einaregilsson.com/photos , I just looked with LiveHttpHeaders and it gives a 200 OK. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm using IIS and some 404 page hack ( http://tech.einaregilsson.com/2007/07/30/pretty-wordpress-permalinks-on-iis/ ) for my permalinks. What kind of server are you running on? IIS or Apache?

I really like how this makes integration smooth. There's just one little problem with how you're integrating zenphoto.

WordPress still isn't fully recognizing zenphoto. To the viewer, the integration looks seamless. However, because of how the page files are being included, the gallery (or rather WordPress) is spitting out a 404 error in the response headers... which regular visitors cannot see, but spiders sure do. So nothing can get indexed. It'd be great if there was a work around for this.

Hi Einar,

I finally got the integration working well with the blog, however, there is only one more thing that I couldn't get to straighten out - the "next" and "prev" link when it gets to the single image area. Take a look at this link:
http://www.mlownie.com/gallery/index.php?album=retrospective&image=flying_2.jpg

I'm not exactly sure how to separate them - take a look at the code

/* Page Navigation
------------------------------ */
#zenphoto .pagelist { text-align:center; }
#zenphoto ul.pagelist {
	clear: both;
	padding: 0;
	margin: 20px 0 0 0;
	list-style-type: none;
}
#zenphoto ul.pagelist li {
	display: inline;
}
#zenphoto ul.pagelist li a, #zenphoto ul.pagelist span.disabledlink {
	padding: 4px;
}
#zenphoto ul.pagelist li.current a {
	font-weight: bold;
	text-decoration: none;
	cursor: default;
	color: #5A5A4B;
}
#zenphoto ul.pagelist li.prev {
	margin-right: 10px;
}
#zenphoto ul.pagelist li.next {
	margin-left: 10px;
}
#zenphoto .disabledlink {
	color: #ddd;
	cursor: default;
}
#zenphoto .pagenav {
	clear: both;

Yes, you should get a link called ZenPhoto in your WP admin panel. Although as explained in the article it will only work out of the box if your folder is in the correct place, otherwise you'll need to make some modifications. See step 6 in the explanation.

I think I may have found what the problem may be. I used a different db for each wordpress and zenphoto (I did follow your instructions and added the admin in zen-integration.php file). In zenphoto, I noticed it showed up in the Themes menu but when I tested it I get the same errors as others are getting here. Obviously, I'm not placing the correct absolute path so I'm waiting for the hosting people to send it to me since it's different from what you mentioned. Here's my error:

Warning: main(../wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/w0004/d09/s17/b01414e4/www/gallery/themes/wordpress-integration-zp-theme/head.php on line 2

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '../wp-blog-header.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/nf/lib/php') in /mnt/w0004/d09/s17/b01414e4/www/gallery/themes/wordpress-integration-zp-theme/head.php on line 2

Once I get the absolute path, I would hope it would work then.
Also, my question is - how do I get the link to the zenphoto admin interface? Does it automatically place it on my wordpress site? Thanks.

What folder is your zenphoto installation in? For example, my demo album is in a folder called 'photos' under my wordpress folder, then the path to my album is http://tech.einaregilsson.com/photos/

The plugin itself doesn't do much, it just allows you to edit your zenphoto files in the wordpress editor and gives you a link to the zenphoto admin interface.

Hi, thanks for the plugin. However, did I miss something? Is it supposed to show up somewhere on my wordpress blog? Do I need to create a page or something? I didn't seem to get any errors, as far as I know. I just don't know where the gallery is supposed to show up in wordpress. Thanks.
